My STORY.
Obstacles and failures
I was a specials teacher it was my very first full time teaching assignment and I had to create my own curriculum. I had no idea what they wanted me to teach elementary students.
I WAS GIVEN A LIST OF SKILLS THEY WANTED MY STUDENTS TO HAVE AND COMPUTERS THE REST I HAD TO FIGURE OUT ON MY OWN
I had previously taught coding to my 8th grade students using the Code. org website so I decided to use their curriculum to teach coding to my K-3rd grade eventually 4th and 5th grade students.
My only issue was, I was not a computer science major so I had no idea what or how to teach what I was teaching. It was years of trial and error in the classroom before I perfected my K-8th grade computer science curriculum.
